“Why do we love the sea? It is because it has some potent power to make us think things we like to think.”
Seal Watching on Cape Cod

There are close to 5000 seals now on or around Cape Cod. Grey seals, Harbor seals. You can get up and personal by using one of several local tour companies.

Over recent years, the seal population has increased ten-fold off the shores of the Lower Cape, which has also brought some Great White sharks to the area. Several local companies give tours to watch the seals frolic in the waters off the coast of Chatham, out near Monomoy Island. Make sure to bring a sweater or jacket even in the summer season as winds can be high out on the water. You may also see seals in the afternoon out on Chatham's sand bars, particularly when the fishing boats come in from their daily catch.
